Kreuzherreneck also known as Bobby´s Bar
Dusseldorf Old Town
Bobby´s Bar is the perfect place for making
new friends or business contacts.
"It's fitted out in a simple, but tasteful manner with wooden
fittings and a tile floor. The windows are unusual: the bottom
third of each is etched with the name of a spirit, the middle
third with the name of a country and the top with various coloured
culinary symbols, such as corkscrews, beer taps, etc. I've no idea
what the meaning of it is, but it's attractive enough. It reminds
me of the sort of decoration you would see in Interhotel bars or
HO restaurants built in the 1960's (if anyone can remember such
things now)".
(Dusseldorf Pub Guide)
...the must do in Düsseldorf is
going out and visit our oldest local pub, called "Kreuzherreneck".
Very famous, because lots of artist or famous writers joined this
bar during the last century. Go there and order the only there
sold "Hausschnaps"! If you was in düsseldorf without this you
wasnt in Düsseldorf.

...After
reading the Düsseldorf one you will not be able to resist such
"if-you-have-not-been-in-here-you-have-not-been-to-Düsseldorf"
places such as: the Kreuzherreneck (also known as Bobby)
(Altestadt 14, corner Urselinegasse, www.kreuzherreneck.de), a
Schnaps bar that also has Frankenheim Alt .

...Altestadt is a street full of boozers and one of them is this
tiny corner pub, Kreuzherreneck. There are only 2 tables and a couple of bar
stools for seating, yet somehow they manage to have live music
here. Maybe the band take up position in the toilets.

... Duesseldorf. My favorite pup, the
'Bobby' aka 'Kreuzherreneck' is still
serving the same
Frankenheim
Alt as it did in the sixties. ...
Frankenheim Alt
A great alt beer smooth and excellent balance of malt and hops.
This ruby dark brown ale goes down smoothly and is highly
drinkable, spicy with the nice alt body that lends itself to this
style. Low ABV makes this a very drinkable ale and the smooth
texture of the beer adds to a good session ale.
